Process Activity Ontology Learning From Event Logs Through Gamification

چکیده

The quality of event log data is a constraining factor in achieving reliable insights process mining. Particular problems are posed by activity labels which meant to be representative organisational activities, but may take different manifestations (e.g. as result manual entry synonyms introduced). Ideally, such remedied domain experts, they time-poor and cleaning time-consuming tedious task. Ontologies provide means formalise knowledge their use can scalable solution fixing label similarity problems, extended reused over time. Existing approaches improvement manually-generated ontologies or that too general WordNet). Limited attention has been paid facilitating the development purposeful field This paper concerned with creation experts. For first time mining, participation facilitated motivated through application techniques from crowdsourcing gamification. Evaluation our approach construction 35 participants shows found method engaging its results high-quality ontologies.

Mining Process Performance from Event Logs

Having reliable performance information is often crucial in many business process improvement efforts. In systems where process executions are not strictly enforced by a predefined process model, obtaining such information is difficult. In this paper, we analyzed an event log of a real-life process, taken from a Dutch financial institute, using process mining techniques. In particular, we used ...

Discovering Process Models from Unlabelled Event Logs

Existing process mining techniques are able to discover process models from event logs where each event is known to have been produced by a given process instance. In this paper we remove this restriction and address the problem of discovering the process model when the event log is provided as an unlabelled stream of events. Using a probabilistic approach, it is possible to estimate the model ...

Recompiling learning processes from event logs

In this paper a novel approach to reuse units of learning (UoLs) —such as courses, seminars, workshops, and so on— is presented. Virtual learning environments (VLEs) do not usually provide the tools to export in a standardized format the designed UoLs, making thus more challenging their reuse in a different platform. Taking into account that many of these VLEs are legacy or proprietary systems,...

Learning semantic models from event logs

In this work we present an approach to extract the business logic of an application based on its generated logs. To do so we use process mining techniques to extract the model from the logs of an industrial application which are often large and hence difficult to analyze. We propose here a methodology to group the log according to similar elements, so that it can be presented to the user in sep...

SecSy: Synthesizing Process Event Logs

One difficulty at developing mechanisms for business process security monitoring and auditing is the lack of representative, controllably generated test runs to serve as an evaluation basis. This paper presents an approach and the corresponding tool support for event log synthesis. The novelty is that it considers the activity of an “attacker” able to purposefully infringe security and complian...
